The Hopkinton, Mass.-based orthopedics firm says it's ahead of schedule with the Acadia study of its facet joint reconstruction device.

Facet Solutions enrolls 100 in lumbar spinal stenosis trial

Facet Solutions Inc. enrolled the 100th patient in the Acadia investigational device exemption study of its lumbar spinal stenosis treatment.

President and CEO Geoff Pardo said the company is head of schedule with the trial, which will examine the efficacy of its Acadia posterior stabilization system. The device is a joint reconstruction device designed to match the size and shape of the facet joint to provide lumbar spinal stenosis patients with pain relief, normal motion and stability. The procedure involves the replacement of diseased posterior spinal joints with an anatomic implant.

Last week, MassDevice broke the news that Facet snapped up defunct Archus Orthopedics' intellectual property for an undisclosed amount. The company also closed a $3.6 million in a debt offering, according to a regulatory filing.
